The International Graduate Research Symposium (IGRS) is an international academic event organized by the Graduate School of Istanbul Technical University, aiming to provide a structured platform for sharing graduate-level research within an interdisciplinary framework. Bringing together studies from basic sciences, engineering, architecture, arts, and social sciences, IGRS seeks to strengthen graduate research culture, enhance academic interaction, and ensure the visibility of scholarly outputs within a qualified academic environment. The symposium promotes critical discussion and sustained academic exchange through its inclusive and interdisciplinary structure.

IGRS 2025, organized by the ITU Graduate School, hosted a significant scientific gathering with strong academic participation and a comprehensive program structure. Participation was recorded from 66 academic departments, with 234 programs and 111 sessions conducted throughout the symposium. A total of 502 research presentations were delivered, including 388 oral and 114 poster presentations. While the majority of submissions were contributed by ITU members, participation from external universities and institutions highlighted the inclusive and collaborative nature of the symposium. Attendance levels at opening and parallel sessions reflected the strong interest of the academic community in IGRS.

IGRS is organized by the Graduate School of Istanbul Technical University, which serves as the primary academic unit responsible for coordinating graduate education and research activities at ITU. Built upon ITU’s more than 250 years of academic heritage and 80 years of experience in graduate education, the Graduate School oversees nearly 200 graduate programs supported by over 2,000 academicians and more than 10,000 graduate students. With its research-oriented educational approach, multicultural academic environment, and commitment to quality assurance, the Graduate School continues to support graduate education in a comprehensive and structured manner.
